A book is a doorway to another world, to another
perspective. I believe a book is a way to escape reality for a moment of time
and explore the imaginative and/or in-depth thinking part of your brain. In my
mind it doesn’t matter if a book is digital, hardbound or paper book, it’s
about what the message of the story is that matters. Personally I tend to read
more paper and hardbound books more than digital copies. I agree with Nancy Joe
Sales when she says that “I don't think books will ever disappear for this
reason: We need them too much. They remind us that we exist; they show us how
we have lived,” (Sales). I also think that books will never disappear or just
appear digital only. I don’t think that people will give up the physical
companion feeling that a paper book has. I don’t think that a book is magical
but it depends on who is reading a specific story. One person may connect to a
story in a different way than another person due to personal background,
heritage, ect.
